Hi, I’ve been looking into hypnosis and have been practicing self-hypnosis for a little while. However last night i made my first attempt on someone else i was using my friend as a subject and was able to get him into a light trance but i wasn’t able to maintain it. So does anybody have any suggestions on ways to induce a trance and a few ideas for suggestions? Thanks

Study more. Read serious books on hypnosis. You can find them at university libraries, bookstores, Amazon.com and other places. Don’t rely on stuff you have seen on the web. Most of it is trash. Take professional classes if you are seriously interested.
From the books, you will learn what goes into a good induction and good suggestion. Then write your own induction and practice it until you have it completely memorized so you can recite it smoothly. When writing your induction, it is okay to borrow liberally from other sources, but make the exact words your own. The words should fit your style and cadence. The same applies to suggestibility tests. Study what makes a good test then write your own words for some.
After that, practice, practice practice. Ideally, record your induction and tests and play them back. Listen to your cadence, tone of voice, smoothness and so on. You learn a lot that way.
This is a lot of work, but if you are serious about learning hypnosis, do it right. There are way too many amateurs out there who want to learn this quickly and then don’t understand why they have problems and fail.
